Artist Statement

The Painting Twenty Two for Diego was inspired by that artist.

Diego Rivera is considered one of the greatest Mexican painters of the twentieth century.
This painting was inspired by some of his paintings of the flower sellers.

His work is known as social realism although I did not intentionally plan to paint eleven
lilies in each hand, it happened.

Diego Rivera did not compromise his work, or his political views. As an artist as a human being you must be true to your Sovereign self your inner core.

"Art that fails to articulate a liturgical mission is purely decorative form of entertainment, construed to please by deception." (Emilo Cruz)
