The Time Has Passed
To "Give-Up"
On White America
Having A Conscience

"When Lord Trump takes the throne,
I hope Americans of Color
have their passports handy."

WEB DuBois, Josephine Baker, Mos Def, here’s but a Hobbit’s handful of the Black Americans who gave up on the far-fetched, if not mythical, assertion that White America maintains a “conscience.” They gave up on believing this decadent empire has some moral sense, some innate ability to distinguish between what is “right” and what is “genocide.” So they got the hell out, went overseas, went abroad.

Smart move.

Forgive me, but I just don’t see American WASP culture going through some “reformation” or “enlightenment.” No, instead I see Trump, Cruz and the good ol’ boys yearning to return to the dark ages, to yesteryear, to the 20th-century, to their good ol’ days of American Apartheid.

When Lord Trump takes the throne, I hope Americans of Color have their passports handy.

Black American icon, Paul Robeson, when asked “why” he had not remained in the Soviet Union because of his affinity with its political ideology, replied, "because my father was a slave and my people died to build [the United States and], I am going to stay here, and have a part of it just like you and no fascist-minded people will drive me from it!"

Mr. Robeson’s words condensed and encapsulated my personal Black American philosophical foundation for all my adult life, but over the last few years, since Obama came into office and the Neo-Conservative/Confederate overreaction reached ridiculous Redneck levels, I’m having 2nd, 3rd, 49th thoughts about my, perhaps, “outdated” position. I’ve began campaigning for my fellow Black Americans to consider a 21st century evacuation.

We ain’t got to stay.

Let’s give the volatile “real” Americans what they deeply desire, and appear to be willing to kill for a virtually Snow-White America. A pure caucasian nation, wielding a imperialistic foreign policy in a turbulent, barbaric world which is steps away from World War III, they can defend - solely by themselves.

I seriously believe nations like Costa Rica, Canada, Panama, South Africa, at least “parts of,” and Belize are all viable, doable, workable alternative locations Black Americans should weigh n’ measure. We don’t have to pick merely one; we can, dig this - “migrate” or “immigrate” to a vast array of nations. No one country could house the flood of Black folks who should, who ought want to get the hell out.

There’re countries which are as, if not more, attractive to Black people then say a cold, hostile Montana or dilapidated Detroit - clearly comparable to Klan country in Kentucky or the 4th ward in Houston. In US-stabilized Panama, Blacks, or Afro-Panamanians account for 15-20% of the population, while Black ancestry is present in 50% of the people.

Dubois’ Talented Tenth would treat Belize or Costa Rica as retirees treat Florida - take their professional careers South of the border and work from home. Afro-American retirees could take their hard-earned pensions, investments and SS checks and get the hell-out-of Dodge. In the process lay the foundation, buy the property, create the inroads for their children to relocate there over the next decade or so.

Black folks can hand-craft enclaves and hamlets, composed of Afro-Americans - all around the world. Call it nation-building. We’ll send some of our brightest and best.

But wait, hold-on one goddamn second; Black folks, despite the blood, sweat n’ tears, for hundred of years, workin’ from “can’t see to can’t see,” we didn’t get no forty acres and a mule in Alabama or Arkansas, however I’d sure as hell take 33 and a half acres and a jackass on one of the 52 islands within the US Virgin Islands . . . why not commit the American Territories to serve the role of Black Homelands?

Call it reparations and call it even.

Why can't Black Americans consider the US Virgin Isles as the “Neo” American Frontier; still the USA - but not really? St. Croix - what a compromise. No? Instead we wish to remain in Waco Texas. Go figure. Let’s, for the first time in a long-ass while, think as a people trying to escape the master’s dysfunctional house-of-cards, as opposed to staying, living hi’ n’ mighty on the hog in his burning house. A home he doesn't want us in, to begin with. To begin with I say!

Do we Black folks ever tire from forcing ourselves upon a people who can't decide if we’re even human? Forcing ourselves upon a culture of which not all, but more than 50%, the majority, hate us.

Nonetheless, if we can’t get the land and the mule. Costa Rica is more compatible for Black folks than Wyoming, Rhode Island or Mississippi. The Caribbean-side Limon and Puerto Viejo, is an area already populated with Black Jamaicans who emigrated there a century ago. The entire Caribbean coast south from Limon is positioned for investment, development, for growth.

Hilton, Marriot, Carnival, Disney, Coke - Black folks have relationships and inroads with these corporate institutions; let’s “leverage” and utilize them.

Costa Rica’s health system is prized by American expats who’ve long been emigrating there, and I “guran-flippin’-tee you” it’s better than that in rural Mississippi or inner-city Baltimore, if the concern is you won’t have the same 5-star treatment you get in inner-city LA.

If you’ve got your kids in “Chiraq” public schools, or honestly, enrolled in any major city’s schools, I can “guran-flippin’-tee you” Costa Rican schools are academically equal or better. Unquestionably, they’re - dig this - “safer.” And after all, this is the 21st century; the look of education and schools is evolving. Online education, with shared instructors K thru Phd is available via internet. Charter schools are as simple as add-water-n’-stir.

Let’s use our brains here; we have the opportunity, not dilemma, but rather opportunity either to relocate and blend in with the general population like Canada, or, we can too craft, make from scratch, master-planned communities in say Costa Rica or Panama which will have structured in a micro-economy that is interwoven with the population, but also designed with the necessities of a village - the butcher, baker, and even computer chip makers - if we intelligently construct it.

Morehouse College has a great urban planning department. Can they be tapped to lay out master-planned communities akin to Nicodemus, Deerfield and Blackdom - yesteryear's post civil-war Black colonies?

Disney hand-crafted the town of Celebration from scratch; why can’t they partner with Morehouse (odd-couple) to craft planned communities abroad for Black folks?

Dah!

Must I sit here and “win-over” Black folks to the concept that there are places as-good-as Memphis, Toledo, Sacramento, Kansas City and Ferguson Mo.?

However I’m envisioning a “mass exodus” as if we’re fleeing, escaping a natural disaster of epic Hollywood proportions . . . or enraged Rednecks, who, as they keep telling you n’ I, “want their country back!” Call me a fool, but I don’t believe the “good” Liberals and “Progressives” can control the “bad” “Conservatives and Confederates.”

Translation; Black folks will be at the mercy of a Ted Cruz-led America. Let’s run-away.

Perhaps between Black civic organizations like the NAACP, the elaborate, nationwide network Black churches have established, Black Greeks, professional organizations and along with today's social media being utilized - there could be a motivation and mobilization of Black folks willing to, yeah, move-on.

Coincidentally, from the pages of CNN Moo-Lah: For the starting price of just $200,000 you can buy citizenship in the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Antigua launched its "citizenship by investment program" in 2013, and it has proved so popular that it now accounts for about 25% of government revenue. Some 500 people have already bought their way into the country of just 90,000, according to local media reports.

Dominica - $100,000. Yes, believe it - “instant” citizenship in another country. This is affordable. I’m not trying to empty the Cabrini Green projects nor just offer an elitist escape route to the Huxtables from Bellaire - I’m thinking of an “out” for all of us. Maybe we can get a “group rate?”

Antigua, Barbuda, Dominica, pick one. My thought, the average American home is over $250,000 . . . and 37 cents, so why not? We might be able to get a “discount” if we bring 2500 people to the table.

Black people please, please, please ponder your predicament; same basic intolerable White America, with relatively the same racist mentality, even in a different space-age millennium. White America - different, yet the same. Thus the answer remains the same - get as far away, as disconnected and non-dependent as possible. While we still can, before it’s too late.
