2019:
The Year of the “Great White Hope”

"Most of the white fan base across the US
is hoping Andrew Luck, Rivers, Brady and
the remaining 'good ol’ boys' beat-back
these black Signal Callers, 'take back'
the NFL, make it 1963 white again..."

America, Trump’s America, yeah . . . they’re sooo-desirous of “Great White Hopes” - it’s honestly disturbing, extremely disturbing . . . to say the very, very least.

It’s common grade school knowledge the wide-world of sports reflects and embodies our very conflicted “real” world. One-layer deep into the green funky onion of our society and it’s indisputable the National Football League is proving to be a ugly-reflection of the vast-array of ills and woes plaguing American culture: racism, sexism and economic elitism are continuous and ever-present elements of all the “controversial” headlines emanating from the NFL soap opera.

Black-balled and listed Colin Kaepernick, who’s taken a Nobel-like 1968 Mexico City Olympic's Smith n’ Carlos “Black Power” stand . .. and paid dearly - with his NFL career. The Plantation Big Daddies have deemed him far too uppity and ungrateful they let him play their game.

Look over to Dallas or the Kansas City Chiefs and we’ve had another woman-beater exposed to the world. Move-on to the astronomical if not obscene revenue and salaries - which are reflective of a society with misplaced priorities and values - the examples of “isms” is endless . . .

However this post-season weekend we’ve got a barn-burner before our gazed-over fanatically over-interested eyes - the Kansas City Chiefs (Warlords) stand on the eve of battling the Indianapolis Colts - this is a contest which will also provide these so-called “United States of America with a vivid, black and white “selfie” summation of an issue which is at the core base of what ills America - specifically and particularly White America . . . translation - Donald Trump's America;

Indy field general Andrew Luck pitted against KC Signal Caller Patrick Mahomes. . . . Yesterday versus tomorrow . . . a blue blooded NFL legacy “great white hope” going toe-to-toe with a uppity part black man (his parents union irritates and aggravates many a White guy still today) who doesn't know his inferior, secondary place on the field of competition. . . or in life and who’d dare-to confront and oppose the gutter-low expectations held and maintained by most white folks about most black folks.

How funky is it?

Patrick Mahomes, along with Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Dak Prescott, Deshaun Watson and a few other “Tenacious Airmen” are defying an age-old law of White guy science which rules the NFL up until . . . yesterday - the belief, the computation and calculation that Black men could not successfully man the alpha-male position on the gridiron because we lacked, were void of all the cerebral and emotional qualities required to lead men into battle on the frozen tundra fields of the NFL.

We can’t be head coaches either, along with astronauts, brain surgeons, architects and Boy Scouts . . . but that’s a whole nother issue.

As a kid growing up in South-Central LA, the 213, Crenshaw . . . I had the opportunity to go with my gramps to a handful of LA Rams games at the Coliseum, and I saw the Grambling Tiger, James Harris man the helm of the team. Coupling that with my pops being chin-deep in the Black Panther Party, a member along with Black Power icon Angela Davis in the Che-Lumumba Communist Party . . . so at an early age I read through the White supremacy/domination company lines. I was Black, beautiful, strong and smart, and white America couldn’t tell me anything else

However as I played the game of football I realized that the seldom openly spoken rule was the unspoken law within the game. Black boys, man-cubs and young men were told in so many ways, spoken, unspoken, direct and indirectly blacks didn’t have the character, intelligence nor composure to lead a team. And on the rare occasion we did . . we relied on our "feets to do their thing”" and run fast, quick and hard . . . for we didn’t have the mental ability to one, grasp the complexities of damn near any offense while we didn't have the brain-power to dissect a defense. We could just run.

Tenacious Warren Moon was the exception, the good ol boy brain-trust had no choice, while for quarterbacks Marlin Briscoe, Tony Dungy, Don Mcpherson, JC Watts . . . the list of college QB’s who were denied a chance, a fair and equal opportunity to practice their craft in the NFL is endless and shameful.

When Mahomes snaps on his chin-strap and steps under center it will be a form of blatant defiance of white man rules and laws, just as it is for newly elected US Congresswoman Rashid … to “tell it like it really is:” we’ll have to impeach this mo-fo to ensure justice in a divided land.

Patrick Mahomes, the child of a once illegal relationship which would get a Black man lynched in most parts of the country, who now dates a Nordic princess - his simply “touching” her, let-alone having sex with a white woman never forget once got Heavyweight champion Jack Johnson imprisoned a hundred years ago in this country. And note: this is the time period of the good ol’’ happy days which King Trump and his people yearn to drag this empire back to.

We saw a vastly snow white fanbase in Baltimore on Sunday the abandon Lamar Jackson for “Great White Hope” Joe Flacco. Those fans weren't going to ride or die with Action Jackson” they were more than willing to exploit, pimp and then throw him aside, and his entire maturation process to do so, but a “good,” “decent” white man, Harabaugh, whose dad placed the most uppity black man, Muhammad ALi on a mantel in his home for his sons to learn from, well, he didn’t give the fair-weather fans the human sacrifice and instant gratification they yearned.

There’s never been any legit “investment” made in Black people or Black America, and true to history it became clear to the black Raven players that thousands of fans saw Jackson, and themselves as what some of us know they are - after-meal “entertainment,” 21st century gladiators, nameless, faceless” Mandingo/Zulu bucks”, who if they can’t perform, generate the wins, championships and profit stream, then hell yes, revert back to the “Standard” - Joe “cool” Flacco to rally the barbarians with his intellectual grasping of the game - he wold have l came in the game and “read” the defense, calmed his hysterical black teammates and do something Jackson just really isn’t capable of - thinking.

How funky is this onion?

Just as most of White America hopes like hell Trump’s a long over-due version of an 87-yard “hail Mary” pass to regain control and power in the last seconds of a over-time game they’re losing . . . despite cheating all game long . . . Most of the white fan base across the US is hoping Andrew Luck, Rivers, Brady and the remaining “good ol’ boys” beat-back these black Signal Callers, “take back” the NFL, make it 1963 white again, running backs, defensive backs. . . the entire Boston sports bar wet dream realized of great white hopes all over the field.
