Donald Trump is a trashy man, he is “White Trash...with money.” Honestly, I’d venture to say the folks who support him are trashy people, whatever their color, and they lack both character and class.

Last week when Colin Powell passed, Trump offered this gibberish to appease, please and inflame his constituents; “Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media,” Trump said in a statement. “Hope that happens to me someday. He was a classic RINO [Republican in Name Only], if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans. He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!”

I’m sorry, but I just can’t let time passing stop me from calling a low-life weasel a low life weasel, and Donald Trump, along with those millions who back him are low life weasels, the lowest of the low...men and women who couldn’t shine the 4-star general’s boots.

However, I’m left to ponder the obvious: If men like Colin Powell and Barack Obama are too Black for White America, and that’s exactly what it is, both men are far-too enlightened, then what spineless puppet do they want?

I’m disgusted to see Donald Trump deliberately trash General Colin Powell, and his body wasn’t even cold yet. This was, in my brown eyes, much more than the intended insult it was, it was also an example of how very cold-hearted and mean-spirited is all-white audience Trump is playing to. He is them; they are he… they are one. Horrific isn’t it?

Clearly, they don’t like most Black people. They despise and oppose Black popular thoughts and opinions.

Most Black Americans regard men like Colin Powell, Barack Obama, Professors Henry Gates, Cornel West, women like Oprah, Michelle Obama, Stacey Abrahams, Kamala Harris and Professor Angela Davis to be model Black Americans, heroes, precisely who and what you want your daughter or son to see as role models, to emulate and imitate - understanding men and women are born, officers and gentlemen are “made.”

If Powell was so lacking in life, then my God, what do these people consider a good Black man to be? Herman Caine?

I can only conclude MAGA house negroes like Supreme Court clown, Clarence Thomas, and Trump’s personal hand puppets, Dr. Ben Carson, and Georgia Senator Tim Scott, represent “good” men. Yes, believe it: in the miniature minds of Trump’s America, these are the ideal, model negroes. These three modern-era ministrials are the Black guys they consider “good niggers.”

Please, let’s not act like Trump and his cult, when behind closed doors. Don’t toss around terms like “Nigger,” just as they do terms like “Chink”, “Bitch” and “Spic.” I’d like to define and depict them as they are, not as they diabolically pretend to be. I’m not going to do them the favor.

Nevertheless on with reality... America, White America has a long history of desiring to hand-pick Black folk’s heroes and leaders, for that matter the leaders of all people of color throughout North American history and for that matter, all across the globe - ain’t that something? The effort itself is rooted in their paternal notion that Blacks are easily influenced, merely adult children who don’t know up from down, and will follow whomever they tell us to follow. It’s another example of White men overestimating their influence, clout and power, while underestimating the basic competency of the rest of humankind.

It seems White people, in general, prefer small, simple-minded negroes who happen to be greedy fools, easily manipulated pawns who are willing and wanting to say and do just about anything for personal reward. Negroes who come with a price. They’ve been around since we got off the slave ship.

But the issue remains Trump’s desire, and one shared by millions of kindred-spirited White folks to insult and demean Black people, who should be, ought to be, based on all social norms, respected if not held in high esteem. Why do they want to be so hostile and mean to Black people? The question is just that simple: What have we done which drives the blind hatred, the animosity and contempt for Black people?

Trump’s USA hates Treyvon Martin and George Floyd, but loves the men who gunned them down. As they hated Dr. King at the height of the civil rights movement, they hated Ali for not wanting to be a pawn in a White man’s war. Hate Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

George Zimmerman and Derrick Chauvin are American heartland Heroes.

White America hates Black people with a spine, and a voice, who tell White folks to go to hell with that cloaked and camouflaged White Supremacist nonsense. They hate Black folks with a mind of their own. They hate what they term as “Uppity Niggers.”

Well, I’m one of them and I embrace that term, wear it with extreme pride: Desi Cortez - “uppity” Black man. Put it on my tombstone.

What did we do, as a people to White America, that from their ranks virtually 3 in 4 feel compelled to go out of their way to be cruel? Cops and teachers who couldn’t give a damn, doctors and nurses who treat Black patients as less? Bankers who work overtime to crush Black homeowners' dreams. What is it we did that tells a White doctor the Black 9-year-old is lying about her stomach pain?

Why are Black and Brown people “guilty” and “incompetent” until we prove otherwise, while for folks like Trump it’s just the opposite??

I guess this question of motivation, what motivates mainstream White America’s hate, will always be something which I ponder - is it caveman elements that propel an unwarranted fear of those visually different than you? Or is it envy? So many entrenched and popular White stereotypes depict Blacks as so much more...everything; from our physical superiority to our spiritual connections to life, on to our mental and emotional ability to not only be able to survive in this overtly hostile land, but to thrive... against all odds - in a nation where millions hate you even before you open your mouth or do anything.

Yet we rise.

I think because we do rise, as Powell rose from the son of Jamaican immigrants in New York to Joint Chief of Staff and Secretary of State, they hate us. Because everyday Black folks like myself want to live the American Dream, want for our kids all they can attain, want to simply go out to dinner, go on a family vacation, enjoy anything beyond “Good Times” and the “good life in the projects” and so much of White America loses their gluten-free minds. We’re trying to “live like White folks…” we don’t “know our place,” ain’t that a …?!

They hate gangsters and thugs, they hate “woke” college students, they hate “progressive” teachers, lawyers and supportive “good” Black cops and they hate Black Presidents and generals who are both noble and good...they hate everyone Black but the sellouts and Uncle Toms. A Black person must hate themselves and embrace politicians and business people who support a man backed by the KuKluxKlan...to garner, earn the status of “good, decent Black folks” in the minds of White America.

Do you know what you can do with your “status”?

Trust me, you don’t want their acceptance, approval nor respect. Instead, hear the words of President Franklin D. Roosevelt “They are unanimous in their hate for me - and I welcome their hatred.”
