The Six Million Dollar Puppet

BC – An Update
By Nancy Littlefield
BC Staffer

Where do we stand with financial support?

To date, nearly 600 readers have become BC Paid Subscribers, and almost 150 of them have also become BC Contributors.  A few readers have sent in multiple contributions, and some readers, who cannot afford to purchase a BC Paid Subscription, have sent what they could.  It’s hard not to be touched by such generosity.  Thank you.

With or without a calculator, you know BC needs more readers to step up and become BC Paid Subscribers and BC Contributors.  Cynics have said that the Black Community will not support a Progressive site aimed at furthering social and economic justice.  BC Paid Subscribers and BC Contributors prove them wrong.  We want to continue providing you with commentary, analysis and investigations on issues affecting you.  BC needs your help to keep the Voice alive.

Several BC Paid Subscribers have told us that they came to know BC through a friend who sent them an article.  You, too, can send a BlackCommentator.com article by clicking on the button that reads “Click here to send this page to a friend”.  You’ll find the button on the right-side column of every article.  (You do need to enable pop-ups to use this feature.)  Encourage your friends to become BC Paid Subscribers and BC Contributors.  Remember, support for BC comes from you, our readers.  It’s you who will determine if BlackCommentator.com will continue to deliver its message of Speaking Truth to Power.

If you have not yet become a BC Paid Subscriber, please do so today.  And if you can, please consider also becoming a BC Contributor, and allow us to acknowledge your generosity by printing your name on the Patrons’ Page.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for readers in Canada

We have finally put all provinces on the Sign Up Page list, so that anyone in Canada can use the online Sign Up form to become a BC Paid Subscriber/BC Contributor.  We apologize for having omitted some of the provinces on the original Sign Up Page.

What’s up with the BC Online Store?

Enthusiasm for the BC Online Store continues to grow.  The Speaking Truth to Power cap is our most popular item.  We’re busy coming up with new products, and wonder what you think of a whole section of Dubya stuff, highlighting the art of BC cartoonist 29.  Would you buy a coffee mug with the cartoon of Dubya saying “Thou Shalt Not Question My War”? Or how about a T-shirt with King Dubya Is Watching?

Send me an email and let me know what you’d like to see in the BC Online Store, and we’ll do our best to get it there.  Please keep in mind that every purchase helps to support BlackCommentator.com.

You can reach me at [email protected].
