“The
problems of 3 little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in
this crazy world…” Hollywood’s
1942 classic, Casablanca
is
my indisputable favorite movie, encompassing all the prime, critical
essential elements of a great
story:
class, drama, style, romance, adventure, wit, humor, violence, and
satire….
I love it,
have since I was in college and was introduced to it. But this line
Bogie lays down in the finale is so applicable to so
much
of life, so much, from your personal life to the world itself, just
as it was in the movie. Most people tend to struggle to see, to
appreciate the big
picture, and can only really see and access their day-to-day
situation in an individual, personal manner
They
can’t see the forest for the trees.
In
the “big picture,” the problems of 45 million, give or
take a few hundred thousand black folks, don’t amount to a hill
of beans in this crazy world. I don’t know how to put this to
my people, Black Americans, but our internal, personal agenda was
just rendered secondary by Vladdy P’s audacious chessboard
move. We must now double-down and focus on keeping Trump and his
Putin luvin’ pawns out of any and all political offices, and we
must support the reining in of this out-of-control punk, drunk on
power.
Here,
let me put it to you this way: imagine Putin’s empire spreading
across Europe, and Lord Trump has been reelected President of these
rumbling, bumbling, stumbling, fumbling Disunited States of America.
Our uphill battle would become
perpendicular plight,
MLK’s mountain top would become Everest-like. I’d argue
Putin wants the world to go back to 1975, if not ’45 and the
end of WWII when the winners diced up the world, and Trump would want
to take America back to pre-civil rights’ era, back to separate
and grossly unequal in all
matters which matter,
America.
Black
America must cast a vote, and good lord we may have to enlist or not
burn that draft card and go off and fight the what, 4th, Right?
Obviously, black people and all people of color would be in an even
more precocious position if the nation, the world, was at the mercy
of White Supremacist like Donny n’ Vladdy.
I
find this a damn near unfathomable thought, that I or my son would
enlist, sign up, and pick up a gun like I see the noble little people
of Ukraine doing, (what a gripping sight) but, but…, but if
the forces of evil are at the door, we’ve little choice but to
defend ourselves, our loved ones, and this country, one which no, has
never, never
I say - loved us back! Nevertheless, the world is better off with
America as a superpower instead of Ray-Gun’s infamous Evil
Empire and unquestionably this country is better off with HR
Puffinstuff, The Michelin Tire Man, the Stay Puff Marshmallow man or
the Abominable snowman, even Yogi or Smokey the Bear (either one) as
President than Trump as this democracy’s King.
Putin
wants to put
the band back together. He
desperately wants to bring the Soviet Empire back to life. In the
same tyrannical breath, Trump’s Republican Party, which does
encompass key elements of the
military-industrial/techno/financial/media
complex, has
no problem sharing the world with Putin and Xi, as they embark upon
conquest via genocide and exploitation.
Pimpin’
ain’t easy, baby….!
Furthermore,
c’mon, it’s clear - Putin is like the Grand Pooh-Bah of
the global White Supremacist movement, and Russia is viewed as White
man’s Land, a somewhat colorless paradise where male toxicity
rules the land. That perspective is partially what fuels the
Republicans we see twisting themselves like Gumby
attempting
to explain away and embrace Vladdy and the Commie pinko fascist
authoritarian gangsters he fronts.
Putin
has no conscience, no shame. Biden suggested no soul, which is no
different from Trump. Two soul-less men, equipped
not with
hearts, but “value meters,” not brains, but instead
calculators. Look, these fat cats want it all, in a “Tony
‘Scarface’ Montana” type a-way.
Black
America should place our internal and historical conflicts within
this imperfect empire on the back burner and focus on voter turnout
in the upcoming election season. We must keep the Republican puppets
out of office and power. A large chunk of the Right
won’t hesitate to get in bed with Putin, they’ll take
Vladdy over Biden, Harris, Hillary, i.e., any
form
of Democratic rule. The US
Constitution and
Bill Of Rights
are, in the minds of much of the “Right” merely pretty
words,
which were meant to govern White men.
In
Trump’s USA, those high-minded patriotic thoughts of the
founding fathers don’t apply to a multicolored,
racially/ethnically/religiously nation where all women and folks of
color have equal power with the entrenched White male establishment.
Trump’s America would rather destroy a democratic nation and
live
under
the psychotic rule of Vladdy and Donny than live
with and
share
this
nation’s fruits with Americans of Color.
I
don’t think there’s any real, legit debate about that, is
there? They’ll take Emperor Putin and King Trump over President
Michelle Obama and Vice President Elizabeth Warren.

it, you heard it here first: Obama/Warren…that’s
the ticket.
Please
understand as well as recognize the undeniable underlying role of
race in this situation. I’ve seen the African students trapped
in Ukraine and having to deal with elements of their population that
are treating them like 3rd class
niggers,
while the value of White lives is placed above theirs.
Obviously,
based upon White America’s empathy, concern, compassion and
sympathy it’s undeniable that these are
not little
olive, brown-skinned, bronze or black-skinned children on the screen,
it’s little white kids - and White
lives matter,
they’ve always seemed to matter, as they rightly should have,
it’s just that no other race had the same value and worth.
European/Anglo-Saxon/WASP
life has always had a perceived superior intrinsic value, compared to
the world’s vastly colored population’s perceived value.
This has never been in doubt or question in the eyes of most White
folks and sadly believed by millions of brainwashed folks of color.
Nonetheless, America will be moved by the horrific war scenes
produced by Putin’s war machine, and it will help fuel a rapid,
serious response seldom witnessed when the refugees are folks of
color. I’m just sayin’... it’s complicated, but it
ain’t.
